(Junior) Contract Manager
Your tasks
- Relying on your technical knowledge and affinity with contracting work in industrial construction, particularly in the offshore industry, you’re responsible for managing contracts from the moment they’re signed.
- Once signed, you read and analyse the contract and other project documents. As a proactive manager, you go through each and every detail of the contract and work out how to effectively approach certain clauses from the outset.
- You monitor compliance with the contractual obligations of the project and advise the project team in this respect. You identify potential variations and claims, and you advise on them. This means you anticipate possible contract variations and opportunities and advise the Project Manager.
- You attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders, make sure agreements are recorded and inform all stakeholders.
- You advise the Procurement department during negotiations with customers, suppliers and contractors and help to draft contracts.
- Your role as Contract Manager involves commercial input as well as contract management skills.
- You use your strategic thinking skills to tackle issues in line with Smulders values: Decisiveness, Innovation, Respect, Expertise, Customer Orientation and Teamwork.
- You and the project team are jointly responsible for ensuring each project is completed successfully.
Your magic skills
- You have a master’s degree in law or contract management experience in industrial construction projects, particularly in the offshore industry.
- You have an excellent written and spoken command of English and Dutch.
- You have an understanding of the common types of contract in the offshore construction industry, such as FIDIC.
- You’re eager to learn and have a keen interest in the construction sector.
- You’re precise, detail-focused and able to perform well under stress.
- You have a strong commercial mindset, customer focus and a winning mentality.
- You can work autonomously and proactively.
- You’re willing to travel to other Smulders sites depending on work to be done.
