Smulders Projects Poland supports the University of Zielona Góra with Modern Non-Destructive Testing Equipment for Students
Smulders Projects Poland, a leader in the production of offshore wind turbine foundations, is not only contributing to the development of wind energy but also supporting technical education. The company has donated modern non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment to the University of Zielona Góra, significantly enhancing the educational quality of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
Collaboration with the University of Zielona Góra
On 21 November 2024, we officially opened a new laboratory at the University of Zielona Góra in Poland, equipped with advanced NDT equipment, donated by Smulders Projects Poland. This donation will allow students access to valuable knowledge and skills essential in the offshore industry and the production of foundations for offshore wind farms.
The director of Smulders Projects Poland, Dieter Weyns, emphasised the importance of this collaboration: “At our company, we build foundations for offshore wind turbines, which form a solid foundation for a sustainable energy future. I am confident that this laboratory will become a similarly solid foundation for future engineers, allowing them to acquire the knowledge and skills that will be key to their careers.”
Investing in the future
Together with the university, we will organise internships, excursions and conferences that bring together theory and practice. Our aim is not only to train students with modern technology, but also to raise their awareness and interest about renewable energy.
The laboratory promises to be an inspiring place where students and researchers will be able to work with the latest technologies. An important step for innovation and education!
We are very proud of our employees who made this project possible and look forward to a long-lasting collaboration with the University of Zielona Góra.
