Are you technically minded, eager to learn and ready to grow into a key player within our projects?
As a Junior Project Engineer at Smulders, you’ll start an intensive training programme where you immediately contribute to challenging, large‑scale (inter)national projects. Experienced Project Engineers coach and guide you, helping you grow step by step towards a role with increasing responsibility.

- Guide draughtsmen by writing clear instructions and following up on planning.
- Solve technical challenges together with colleagues across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Communicate and align regularly with internal stakeholders (planning, work preparation, production, …).
- Use our ERP system to transfer technical data to production.
- Check and validate the output of draughtsmen to guarantee clarity and quality.
- Follow up on engineering administration within your project.
- Grow from a supporting role into a more independent coordinating role, depending on your motivation and learning curve.
Your magic skills
- You hold a Bachelor’s, Industrial Engineering or Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent through experience) – recent graduates welcome!
- Above all: you bring strong technical insight, common sense and a hands‑on mindset.
- You take initiative and quickly pick up new tasks.
- You communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- You enjoy structure and delivering results.
- You take ownership of your work.
- You collaborate effectively with different project stakeholders.
- You are eager to learn – continuous development comes naturally to you.
