Your tasks
As an HSE Officer, you report to the HSE Manager and work closely with the management team to ensure safety in the workplace. The team currently has three members who are jointly responsible for safety at Smulders Projects Netherlands. Their daily task is to raise and maintain awareness of safety aspects.
As an HSE Officer in a team of colleagues, you’re jointly responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
- advising and informing employees about health, safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- performing checks and risk assessments in the workplace in order to identify potential hazards.
- formulating proposals to reduce risks and help to create a safe workplace.
- supporting incident investigations to establish root causes and prevent repeat incidents.
- proposing preventative measures with regard to workplace incidents.
- teaching courses on subjects that fall within your remit.
- checking certificates, PPE compliance, work permits, and performing inspections.
You play a significant role in communicating and ensuring compliance with our company’s health, safety and environment regulations. Your task isn’t only to make sure employees are aware of these rules, but also to ensure strict compliance with them.
Your magic skills
- You have a diploma at intermediate vocational or higher professional level.
- You have a diploma at intermediate vocational level in Safety Expertise or an equivalent subject.
- You have an understanding of health and safety legislation and regulations.
- You have experience with incident investigation and producing task risk assessments or more general risk assessments.
- You can work in MS Office.
- You have a very good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- You are able to work in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
