 Your tasks 

As an HSE Officer, you report to the HSE Manager and work closely with management to ensure a safe working environment. The team currently consists of three colleagues who together are responsible for safety aspects within Smulders Projects Netherlands. Your most important tasks include:

  • Advising and informing employees about safety, health, and environmental regulations.

  • Conducting inspections and risk analyses on-site to identify potential hazards.

  • Developing proposals to reduce risks and promote a safe working environment.

  • Supporting accident investigations to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.

  • Recommending preventive measures to avoid workplace accidents.

  • Delivering training within your area of responsibility.

  • Checking certificates, ensuring compliance with PPE, work permits, and performing inspections.

Your magic skills 

  • You have an MBO+/HBO level of education and thinking skills.

  • You hold a diploma as an Operational Safety Specialist or an equivalent qualification.

  • You have knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations.

  • You have some experience guiding employees on workplace safety.

  • You have a good command of Dutch and English (written and spoken).

  • You are familiar with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
