Your tasks
Your main tasks as an HSE Project Engineer
As an HSE Project Engineer, you connect our customers with our Production department.
You report directly to the HSE Manager.
- You create an HSE plan for each project. That means:
- writing HSE-related information (HSE plan, environmental management plan, waste management plan, etc.)
- identifying potential hazards in new projects
- performing a task risk assessment
- helping to produce Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
- analysing the roadmap to determine whether the RAMS or task-risk assessment cover each step.
- You’re the customer’s first port of call for all HSE-related matters. That means:
- analysing customers’ HSE inspection reports and integrating them into targeted action plans
- performing inspections autonomously or with the customer
- following up and closing queries
- accompanying customer auditors.
- You monitor subcontractor compliance with HSE items. That means:
- checking subcontractors’ HSE plan for projects
- checking whether kick-off meetings and risk assessments have been performed
- performing HSE audits of subcontractors
- monitoring subcontractors’ compliance with HSE KPIs.
- You investigate project-related incidents. That means:
- producing reports of project-related incidents for internal use and delivery to the customer
- inputting incident-specific information into SharePoint
- producing HSE statistics for each project.

- is flexible in terms of
- where they work: we have several locations in Belgium, Poland and the UK. Most of our subcontractors are based in Europe.
- when they work: project-specific activities such as tenders, subcontractor audits and customer audits have very tight deadlines.
- leads by example: they follow procedures and use the available tools, even if a colleague doesn’t see eye to eye with them.
- has well-developed digital skills:
- encourage others to use SharePoint, ERP and other tools properly
- present data in an attractive report
- organise video calls
- Health and Safety Adviser level 2
- has an excellent command of written and spoken English – French or Polish would be an asset.
- has knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001/VCA.
- cares about sustainability.
