Your tasks
- Monitor, review and optimize mechanical engineering work performed by external engineering partners
- Critically assess designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation
- Coordinate and review mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, fire detection & fire fighting systems, lifting equipment and auxiliary systems
- Safeguard technical consistency, applicable standards, client requirements and legal regulations
- Take technical ownership of mechanical engineering activities within your project scope
- Align closely with electrical and automation engineers to ensure correct interface integration
- Act as the technical point of contact for project teams, partners, suppliers and subcontractors
- Support tender activities for offshore substations by analysing specifications, contracts and scope descriptions
- Identify technical risks, ambiguities and potential red flags in tender dossiers
- Support construction and commissioning by defining procedures and reviewing operational and maintenance manuals
Your magic skills
- Holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical education
- Has extensive experience as a mechanical engineer in offshore wind, shipbuilding, heavy industry or similarly complex project environments
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of multiple mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, fire systems, lifting equipment, etc.)
- Has experience supervising and coordinating external engineering firms or partners
- Thinks critically, works in a structured manner and challenges technical decisions when needed
- Communicates fluently in English; knowledge of Dutch, French or German is an asset
- Is primarily based in Arendonk and regularly present on site in Hoboken or the Netherlands (Vlissingen)
